Text Messaging Terms & Privacy
This page explains how Cornerstone Tabernacle uses text messaging (SMS) as part of its pastoral care ministry, and how we handle the mobile phone numbers of the people who receive those messages.
The short version
We text a small, invited group of care-team members and church family to coordinate pastoral care — visits, hospital and surgery support, meals, and follow-up. We do not use texting for advertising, and we never sell, rent, or shareanyone's mobile number.
Who receives these messages
Messages go only to church staff, approved care-team volunteers, and church family members who have chosen to receive care notifications. This is a closed group — not the general public.
How people opt in
People opt in by indicating their consent to receive text messages from Cornerstone Tabernacle — for example, by checking the text-messaging consent box on a connection or care-team card, or by telling a staff member directly. Only people who have opted in receive messages.
What we collect and how we use it
We collect a person's mobile phone number and their name so we can send care-related notifications: a request to visit or call, a reminder for a scheduled visit, a meal sign-up, or a follow-up. We use this information solely to coordinate pastoral care.
We do not share your information
Mobile phone numbers collected for text messaging are never sold, rented, or shared with any third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Numbers are used only by Cornerstone Tabernacle to deliver the care messages described above.
Message frequency & rates
Message frequency varies based on care activity. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan.
Opting out and getting help
You can stop receiving messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. For help, reply HELP or contact us using the information below.
